Detroit dummy called in bomb threat during Lions-Saints game

Dear Mr. Shawn Payton,

It's just a game.

Sincerely,

Goergs

The Detroit Lions 10-6 season ended when they traveled to the Superdome in New Orleans and while they held strong for three quarters, got beat by the Saints 45-28. Overall, Detroit fans took the loss pretty well. Not many expected the Lions to beat the Saints after the Lions were dominated by New Orleans in week 13. However, one Lions fan took the loss extremely hard. He was taking it hard before the loss was in the books.

Shawn Payton, from Jackson, MI, has admitted to calling in two bomb threats to the Superdome during the NFC Wildcard game. According to mlive.com, an FBI affidavit accuses the suspect of making both phone calls within one hour.

After the Saints took a 24-14 lead in the third quarter, Payton's first call was answered by a Superdome receptionist. His message was brief. "I will blow up your building."

Then, at 10:03, when New Orleans had put the game out of reach, Payton had a message the the Saints head coach, Sean Payton.

"Hi, I want you to relay a message to the sideline. If your stupid Southern team keeps winning, there will be reper...severe consequences. OK?"
Payton, the caller not the coach, told the FBI that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. So, he was obviously drunk off stupidity. He explained that he was just disappointed with how the game was going.

"I'm not a bad person," he said. "I was just so proud of the Lions finally making the playoffs for the first time in God knows how long," he said. "I got caught up in the heat of the moment, and I seriously, highly regret making those calls."

Well Shawn, I'm sure the Lions are proud of you too, you big dummy. You'll be asked to turn in your fan card when you're given your cell assignment.
